Grinch Pills

YAY!  My first Christmas project of 2012.  Grinch pills.  :)  I saw these last year and liked the idea, so I put them in my to do file so I could do them this year.  I'm so glad that I remembered!  :)

 I made multiple...I plan to pass them out as needed.  :)

This is the back...I didn't wrap it around as I've seen some do, I just smacked it right down on the front.

I just googled Grinch to find a B&W picture that I like. 

Printed it and the words and copic'd it.  (LOVE those!!)

I distressed it a  bit using green.  Easy and fun!!

I know they will come in handy!

Back to School with Grover!

Hi!!!  I LOVE Grover!!!  He has always been my Favorite Sesame Street character and I still have the loveable, furry, old stuffed toy I had from childhood.  He just makes me smile.  That is part of the  THE reason that i purchased the Sesame Street cartridge! I hadn't even used it, but i just loved knowing that I had it.  I mean my 14 and 12 year olds really wern't any it anymore.  :( 

That is UNTIL!!!  Until I met a kindergarten teacher!!!!!!  YAY!!!  Kaity has a friend who's mom is teaching kindergarten this year!   Wahoo!  That meant that I could pull out this cartridge and go to town.  That's just what I did.  I started with GROVER....the star of the show and then I moved into doing all of the seasons and a name plate!  I know she liked them...she even jumped up and down.  :)  Made my day!

Vinyl treat holder

YAY!  I love working with Vinyl...it's so much fun to personalize stuff and to make things  even cuter than they were to start!  SA's pup is one of the sweetest doggies I know and I wanted to make her a little something.  SA and I were shopping at HL one day and I found these really cute trash cans.  They were on clearance for a little over 3 dollars...I bought two because they were so cute.  I still need to find something to do with the second one, but this one I made a treat holder for Daisy.  I think it turned out really cute and the Mikey cartridge was PERFECT for it!!! 

YAY!  It's nice when things come together!

Batter Up!

I think this is just adorable.  I found it on an site via SCAL and knew I had to give it a try.  My daughter has a friend who plays baseball and thier tournament was just a couple of weeks ago.  She filled this with some goodies and went to go cheer him  on.!  :)  Cute! 

The top is a baseball bat cutout and I embossed it to look more like wood.

Also made a water bottle wrap.  FUN!

Hi Y'all!  These were so much fun to make!!!  :) 

I needed gifts for some of my kid's teachers.  (Yes, I am late postign this but better late than never!).  It is hard to think of somethign that would be good for both men and women.  I have a ton of pictures, but this was a lot of steps so Iguess it fits.  I used Emma's stamp set to stamp and diecut the little coffee cups and they are awesome to make - easy and fun!  I also  bought Starbucks gift cards and asked them for empty coffee cups.  I made coffee bean cookies by making pre-made sugar cookies and then frosting them with regular frosting that I mixed about 4T of Karo syrup to so that it would harden.  I then melted some choc chips and traced the cookie to make them look more like coffee beans rather than just a blob.  They didn't turn out as cute as I ahd pictured.  I wanted small, thick cookies but ended up with regular sized cookies - but that's okay.  They turned out just fine.  I added the cooked to a cello bag and tied with baker's twine.  Put the cookies and the gift card in the cup then cello'd the cup and more baker's twine tied the  bow and added the card.  That's it.  They loved them!  :)  YAY!

 I found the idea on my BBFF Christy's blog and knew they would be PERFECT - I was right!  :)

Wedding Week - Cake Topper

 I so wish I had a better picture because this really turned out cute!

This was fun to do although it was several steps and took a while to dry.  First thing I did was cut out a D using the elegant cake cricut cartridge.  I cut it out twice on medium board and then glued them together.  I then used modge podge to glitter it up.  I coated it with mp, glitter, mp, glitter, mp, glitter, mp while letting it dry between steps

Below is what it looked like with the final coat of MP.  I wasn't positive it would even dry

Luckily it did and it was beautiful!  I think you could use it just like this, but we wanted to bling it up a bit.  I added gems from HL in purple and khaki - they were on sale so we got them for about $16 total.  Two packs of 25 per color worked out perfectly!

BEAUTIFUL if I say so myself!  :)

Wedding Week! Card Holder

Okay, this was one of my favorite projects for the wedding!!! :)  I LOVE how it turned out!  We found something simlar on Pinterest....and the bride fell in love with it.  She asked if I thought I could make it.... Sure!  And honestly the hardes thing was finding boxes.  None of the craft stores had what we were looking for exactly.  But The Container Store did.  We found them online (item #2020 is one of them!).  I thought they'd be assembled boxed, but they were not.  Flat and flimsy.  Made me worried, but it turned out great!  I spray painted the boxes a light khaki color to match her wedding.  adn then cut a hole in the top part of the bottom box that was a little smaller than the size of the middle box (this is so the cards can fall down into it.  I also cut a slit in the middle box for the cards to go.  I wanted the area between the middle and bottom box to be open so I put the lid to the middle box on the underside of the box.  The box top is got glued to the top of the bottom box that had the sqaure cut out.  A bit hard to explain but the order is :

small lid on small box to form a complete box, medium lid and medium box with box turned upside down and lid put onto what would be the bottom of the bos; large box with large lid and hole in large lid.

I then put ribbon from each side and I simply taped the ribbon to the bottom of the box.  Did this so that the project could be used at both the wedding and the shower - the ribbon can be taken off and the cards can be retrieved from the bottom box after each event without the project being destroyed.  I tied a big bow on to and drapped the ribbon down the sides and tacked it on to look flowing with hot glue.  I added some diamond embellishments to the bow for the final touch.

I love the way it turned out! Oh, and the ribbon was but on each side of the card slit.
