My friend is 50!

Happy Birthday to my friend and co-worker, Lisa!  She celebrated her big day in Vegas and when she returned to work she found we had filled her office with black balloons and hired a wailer to sing to her.  I had never heard heard of a wailer, but OMG....it was so funny!  She sang a fun song all while crying.  It was great fun.  She gave Lisa the song and I thought I needed to scrapbook it.  Well, I know Lisa isn't a scrapbooker and when I went to put the 8.5x11 song sheet on a scrappage it really didnt' leave room for pictures.  SO!!!  I made a small paperbag scrapbook for her.  I think it turned out really cute and she really appreciated it!  I know a lot of people took pictures so I also think this will be a great way for her to pick whichever pictures she'd like.

Hedgie Birthday

If you guys know anything about me....you probably know I think hedgie hogs are just about the cutest.  Well, besides my sweet Tink.  She's the cutest ever.  I don't know why I like these little guys so much but they sure make me smile!  SO....As soon as I got this new Bday Bash carty I HAD to make a hedgie!!!  I figure I'd better stock up on my bday card supplies so I made him a Happy Birthday card. 
Fun!  I also like the banner.  I can see I will be using this A LOT!  :)  Lucky me!

That's what this card says to me....YAY!!! :)
I figure I can use her as a birthday card or a congrats card.  She is a digi that I just love!  She was a little pricey for a digi ($5) but I knew I had to have her when I saw her.  :)  I can't wait to play some more with her.  She is a lot of fun.  I think I will name her Kaity - since that is my daughter's name and she makes me feel that excited (sometimes!).  My son is the excitable one....I should look for a boy version!  He's so fun to listen to open presents.  It cracks us all up!  :)

Wallet Gift Holder

YAY!!!!  My BF's son is officially a teenager now!!!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!
We gave him a few gifts and a gift card to Hollister....have you been in that store?  it's not one of my faves.  It's crazy - busy, full, stinky and EXPENSIVE!!!!   But they like it....what can ya do?  :)
SO...I thought I'd make a cute wallet card to hold the gift card.  :)

Layouts galore!!

Whew!  I've had a busy, fun weekend!!!
I got to work on my scrapbooking - trying to get caught up, but am still way back in July and have vacation to do which means I have A LOT of pictures!!!!  Argh!  Oh well, I'll get there....or I won't.  Either way, I'll have fun!  :)  I have been thinking about the digital scrapbook world.  I'm not sure about it yet, but it would be way easier and way less expensive!  I just love to touch and feel it, so I'm not sure I'll ever get there.  Maybe I could do every other book that way or something.  I don't know.  I also always do 12x12 albums.  I am beginning to think a smaller size may be less intimidating and I could get pages done faster.  Although, honestly, I'm pretty fast anyway.  My friends can't believe how quickly I can get pages done.  I don't go all out on all of my pages and often will look at other's work and think....dang, I shoulda done that.  BUT my thinkin is that I just want to get it in a book.  I want to make it cute, sure and I'm not saying that my books look crappy, just not every page is all blinged out, layered and embellished.  Sometimes less is more.  It's the picture, after all, that is the most important.  I write something on every page.  Even if it's just a title that sums up the picture, I put writing on every page.  Those are my only rules for myself.  Well, and I am also chronological.  OCD like.  It's weird, even to me.  Oh well.  :)  So anyway, here are the layouts I did this weekend.  I know I'm a bit late posting them.  Had other stuff I wanted to post first!  :) 
AND...my BF is a HUGE Packers fan so we had a GREAT weekend!  On to the Super Bowl!!!!  :)

YAY! I like this card...A LOT!

YAY!  Do you ever make something and think, "Wow, I just made that!"  :)  Okay, hopefully that's not just me.  I see such beautiful things that other people make and sometimes I even impress myself.  LOL!!  Okay, this card did that for me...

Yay!!!  Isn't it cute!  Now my problem is I don't know how to mail it.  The flowers are bulky and I know the USPS does a great job for the most part, but I don't trust 'em.  This may be one that I hand deliver.  :)  Too bad, cause I was gonna send it to my friend in North Dakota.  Bummer.  I guess I'll have to make her another one!  I like This though!!!  Yay me!!!!  :)  Used another digi from Bugaboo.  You should check 'em out!  This is a new style card for me too....  Wahoo!

Wanna go to Paris?

Wanna go to Paris?  I do!!!  So does my DD!!!  She wants to go way more than I do!  She is all about Paris and New York!!  She's never been to either place, but she learns as much as she can and I know she will go at some point.  My BF is German and grew up in Europe and tells her all about France.  She even wants to take French....  more power to her.  I took it in HS for about 3 years and I can't even say the alphabet anymore.  It was hard.  Blech!  And no one uses it.  I am trying to steer her towards Spanish, but who knows.  She is her own girl. 
Anyway, I made this card with her in mind.  She loved it when she saw it and I think she tacked it on her wall.  :) 
Where would you go if you could go anywhere????  I think I'd go to Australia or maybe Hawaii - I'd love to go there!

Accessorize!

Hi pals!  OMG...I had fun making this card!!!!  I used the flower technique that I showed in a previous post and I thought that it turned out really cute!!!  I love my stamps!  I had forgotten how much I like love them!!  And I've forgotten how many I have!  Yikes!  It is an addiction, isn't it!!!  I picked up a stamp set and thought I'm gonna make something with this one and this is what I came up with.  I really like it.  I even used up some scraps which is also nice.  My DD loves it.  She was excited and even asked me to show her how to make the flowers.  :)  I am sure I will give her this card sometime soon.  How could I resist?!?!

Braggin' a bit. That's right.

Yea, you read that right....I have something to brag about.  BOTH of my kiddos got STRAIGHT A's!!!!  I'm not talking on a test, or on their 9 wk grades, I mean for the entire semester!!!!  Wow!!  That's some smarts.  So....I usually give them money for grades.  That's what my parents did too.  I know it's not a huge incentive and although money is nice, they really don't even spend it really.  yet.  SO....this time, since they've both done so well I got both of them laptops!!!!  They are used and I got a really good deal, but they now each have their own computer and can use it for all of their projects!  My son has already created a SPORTS powerpoint.  He wants to go to Notre Dame and then go into the NFL.  Hey, it never hurts to dream!!!
Kaity asked me if I could make something for the back of her laptop.  She asked if I could cricut her name and a monkey.  WELL, what was a mom to say!!!  My teenager needs me!  YAY!!  I'm glad that they like my crafting.  I get to play and help them at the same time!!!!  WIN/WIN!!!!  I thought, I can use vinyl!!!!  Wahoo!  It worked like a charm!  I have a few colors and I let her pick the colors and design.  This is what she came up with.

Fun Challenge!!

Challenge was to make something with Love as the theme that was not a card.  I got the mailbox and supplies at Archivers, but I recently purchased more mailboxes at Target for $1 in their dollar bin!!!  YAY!  More fun to do!  :)

Pink Card for MPS challenge

Hi my friends!!!  :)
I made a challenge card last night for My Pink Stamper's Blog Hop Challenge.  I used the Aviary stamp set from SU and also Robin's stamp set for the sentiment.  Simple and cute.  I love that little owl.  I also got to use a border punch and some pretty ribbon!  I distressed a piece of scrap and glued that on too!  YAY....I think it turned out pretty cute!

Birthday Cards!

Hi my crafy friends! 
I love me some birthday parties!!!  Problem is, that although I am a card maker I often will be late sending cards.  Argh!  :(  Even though I have plenty just waiting for a stamp!  DOUBLE Argh!!!  So, I am hoping to do better with that this year! 
Anyway, this isn't a cure for that, but it is two more cards to put in the stash!  :)  I made both of them at the same time.  I know I've mentioned that I like to do that....I figure it's just as easy to make two as it is to make one.  Well, I changed it up a bit and used the same 'base' but different images.  They are the same on the inside too and they are also a pop-up!  I like to make these!  :)  Hope you enjoy!

I couldn't decide if I wanted to trim the ribbon or not, and decided I kinda like it long....below is a picture with the ribbon 'out of the way'.
